Caroline Mahoney


Caroline is an experienced Wills and Probate specialist having qualified in 1991. Caroline started out her career in commercial litigation working both in private practice and in-house for a large insurance company based in the city.

For the last 20 years Caroline has specialised in private client work covering Wills and Probate including advising on probate disputes and possible challenges to Wills.

Caroline has worked on a number of complex intestacies with overseas beneficiaries and foreign assets. She can advise on the inheritance tax implications of estate planning and lifetime giving.

Caroline is also able to advise on post death tax saving opportunities.

She is also experienced in the preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney and has acted as an attorney for clients.

Caroline is sensitive to the difficulties that can arise when clients are considering new Wills particularly where they include children from previous relationships.

She does however take a pragmatic approach to identifying and addressing issues and finding a way forward.

Caroline strives to avoid over complicating matters with the aim of avoiding unnecessary legal jargon and achieving outcomes quickly.

When out of the office Caroline is a keen cyclist and rower.
